Atlas of Human Anatomy, Professional Edition (5th edition) BOOK
Biology , Non-Fiction / April 21, 2011

Atlas of Human Anatomy, Professional Edition (Netter Clinical Science) by Frank H. Netter is a worldwide reference book for human anatomy since 1989. First released more than 20 years ago, this fifth Professional Edition re-released on May 3, 2010 and still NOT AVAILABLE in eBook edition and seem it will never be. Atlas of Human Anatomy Book Review: The main difference between the professional edition and the softcover edition is mainly the covering of the atlas, and there are hardly any other differences. While the pictures are not real photos, the paintings done by Dr. Netter are so accurate I almost prefer them. Based on the pictures I am able to get a clear idea of where structures are positioned before cutting or doing blunt dissection with my fingers/probe/scissors. That being said, there is also great benefit to seeing what the structures should look like after a professional dissection in photographs. I believe it is best to have exposure to both excellent pictures (like in this atlas, for a general location and a grip on vocabulary) and either a cadaver or photos taken by a professional anatomist.
