A Stolen Life is a non-fiction memoir of Jaycee Dugard written by herself. Dugard is a California woman who turned up alive 18 years after being kidnapped at age 11 (Click here for more info about this kidnapping). Released July 12th 2011 by Simon & Schuster Adult Publishing Group, it 288 pages covers the period from the time of her abduction in 1991 up until the present.

In the summer of 1991 I was a normal kìd. I dìd normal thìngs. I had frìends and a mother who loved me. I was just lìke you. Untìl the day my lìfe was stolen.

    I hope Jaycee sells a hundred million copies and can live the rest of her life by the sea with all the pets she can possibly tolerate. And I hope her captors rot in hell.
